As Worlds Divide screens in Redfern and Bondi

Last week we shared Mentawai’s As Worlds Divide film and the #wafsac campaign with a packed audience at both 107 Projects in Redfern and the Bondi Pavilion, Bondi.

The response from the people in these two Sydney communities was overwhelmingly positive, with more than $6000 raised for the Mentawai’s Cultural and Environmental Education Program (CEEP). This achieved by their simply taking the time to watch a film and hear the voice of indigenous Mentawai. $6,000 is more than half the budget required to develop, design and publish a Mentawai language dictionary. Incredible.

Thank you to all those who attended, to our sponsors and the individuals who generously donated their time and made these events such a wonderful success. You are an inspiration to us all. For further screening events or to host your own, check out the iefprograms.org/wafsac page; or, otherwise, enjoy a few photos captured over the course of the evenings:

Thanks,

IEF
